Ordered a new Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 SA from Japan on Friday and it arrived yesterday, that’s EMS for ya! This stick has all Sanwa parts as opposed to my old one which only has a Sanwa stick and Hori made buttons. The SF4 stick is for sale for anyone interested, email me for details.

Going to Malaysia?

October 26, 2009

Check out some deals on the following sites. There are some new hotels going at a stupidly cheap rate, say $3 a night bundled with cheap flights. This was all started by the Air Asia boss, Tony Fernandes. The rooms are pretty small and only have bare essentials, but for the price you pay, who’s going to complain.

Batmobile Replica?

October 13, 2009

This Batmobile replica was caught on video on the streets of Stockholm in Sweden. The video description says this Batmobile replica was built on a 460 Ford big block V8 engine that develops in the region of 700 hp. The base car for this Batmobile replica is a 1973 Lincoln Continental and the owner, Leif Garvin, has invested over 1 million USD to build it. The project of transforming a Lincoln into a Batmobile took around 20,000 hours of work.

HK Trip

October 6, 2009

Been a while off since I’ve had proper net access… More updates to come :) Here’s a more recent one.

After arriving and making our way out to the taxi’s the first thing you notice is the heat and crazy humidity… Being a while since I had visited HK, there were notable differences to the cleaniness and hygiene in general after the breakout of the H1/5N1.

Excuse the photo quality, I didn’t particularly want to lug around the 50D on the entire trip but it would have been handy at certain locations to get some nice photos. Anyway, next stop was the hotel  (Royal Plaza)  located in Mong Kok. This hotel is quite nice with a number of features… Also a nice view to the pool outside as seen in the photos.

The days to follow was filled with shopping at various shopping centres, visiting relos and eating of course.  Food in HK is considerably cheap compared to AUS. Obviously depending where you go, but in general the consumer  prices are much lower, even for public transport.

Another highlight of the journey is Macau (the boat ride there wasn’t the highlight, chronic waste of time lining up at customs). Since the last time I’ve been there, this place has transformed, it’s  turning into a mini Las Vegas, the strip of road the Venetian runs down has a number of casino’s being built (apparently stopped due to economic crisis) but once they are all finished, this place will take off! Heaps of imports around too, namely Honda’s, took some photos of some FD2’s I saw while over there. Visited the Venetian and this place is crazy, pretty much a massive shopping/hotel/casino in one building with a river running inside it. The Crown casino (yes same company as the one in Melbourne) wasn’t bad either, however not as riced up as the Venetian, only a massive screen at the entrance which had Mermaids swimming inside and an Enzo inside the casino – not too bad :P

Nearing the end of the trip, visited some tourist attractions and stopped by New World for some more shopping, Miss HK 09 were having a presentation for SASA make up products… You be the judge.

Life Size

August 14, 2009

Not entirely a gadget, but I thought I’d throw this up anyway. The japanese always seem to be one step ahead when it comes to this kinda stuff… If a perfect grade Gundam isn’t good enough, then this is the next best thing, life size grade lol..

SKFG Ekka Performance 2009

August 9, 2009

Well, went to my first SKFG Performance at the Ekka and it was different to what I had expected (in a good way). Great entertainment for the crowd even though the stage was a bit small. The performance included a Lion Dance, Kung Fu Session (Bare Hands, Aerials, Animals, Weapons) as well as a demonstration on the use of chi. Looking forward to future performances.
